Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior AI Architect to define end-to-end Agentic AI architectures leveraging LLMs, multi-agent systems and orchestration layers. You will design autonomous AI agents with planning, memory management, and tool usage capabilities.

You will establish reference architectures for secure, scalable enterprise AI apps and integrate agents with enterprise systems and data platforms. This remote US role offers travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in AI/ML and GenAI including LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, embeddings, and multi-agent architectures.
• Strong Python development skills with hands-on experience across AI libraries.
• Experience architecting on cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable).

Senior AI Architect

About the role

As a Senior AI Architect, you will make an impact by defining end-to-end Agentic AI architectures that turn large language models, multi-agent systems, and orchestration layers into secure, scalable, enterprise-grade solutions for our client. You will be a valued member of the Digital Engineering team and work collaboratively with client stakeholders, data and platform teams, and cross-functional engineering groups.

Please note: A few of our roles may require in-person interviews at Cognizant offices or client locations, depending on project or client needs.

In this role, you will

• Define end-to-end Agentic AI architecture frameworks leveraging LLMs, multi-agent systems, and orchestration layers.

• Design autonomous AI agents capable of planning, reasoning, memory management, and tool usage.

• Establish reference architectures for enterprise-grade AI applications that are cloud-native, scalable, and secure.

• Integrate AI agents with enterprise systems, including data platforms, ERP, CRM, APIs, and event-driven systems.

What you need to have to be considered

• Deep expertise in AI/ML and GenAI, including LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and multi-agent architectures and agent frameworks.

• Strong programming skills in Python (primary) with hands-on experience across AI libraries.

• Experience architecting on cloud platforms, with Azure preferred (including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Studio, and Databricks), as well as AWS or GCP.

• Experience with modern data and platform ecosystems (Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse), REST APIs, microservices, and event streaming (Kafka, Event Hub).

• Strong DevOps and MLOps capabilities, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring, logging, and experiment tracking.

These will help you stand out

• Familiarity with Java, Scala, or Node.js in addition to Python.

• Experience delivering AI solutions within regulated or enterprise insurance environments.

• Experience partnering directly with client stakeholders to shape and advance technical direction.

Salary and Other Compensation

• The annual salary for this position is between $108,000 - $180,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

• This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
