Job summary

Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer Consultant to join IWU Technology on a large-scale re-platforming project. You will embed security across on-premises pipelines, build secure SDLC practices, and lead threat modeling for AI and traditional applications, working with IAM and platform teams to keep the program auditable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in application security
• 2+ years embedding security into CI/CD and developer workflows
• Strong secure coding foundation across web/API stacks
• Experience with threat modeling for distributed apps
• Security architecture reviews for microservices/API
• Hands-on containers and Kubernetes security
• Knowledge of AI/LLM security and guardrails
• Experience supporting SOC 2, SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or FERPA controls
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent demonstrated experience

Responsibilities

• Define and embed SSDLC aligned to ITIL change controls
• Lead threat modeling sessions (STRIDE, PASTA) for new features
• Conduct security design/architecture reviews for applications and APIs
• Build developer security training tied to real findings
• Partner with IAM, AI Architecture, and platform teams to stay auditable and secure
• Develop security standards for AI/LLM features and guardrails
• Assist with incident response for application-layer events
• Contribute audit evidence for SOC 2, SOX, and institutional audits
