Job summary

Cotality is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale MCP servers and Apigee X API proxies for AI-enabled applications. You will work across API architectures and AI integration strategies, shaping platform strategy and driving engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Java.
• Experience with MCP architecture and client-server models.
• Experience with Apigee X and API proxies.
• Knowledge of OAuth, JWTs, API keys, and data masking.
• Familiarity with REST, gRPC, and WebSocket streaming.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Git, Maven).
• Ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale MCP servers for AI-enabled apps.
• Develop Apigee X API proxies and manage API lifecycles.
• Collaborate with product and stakeholders on AI integration strategies.
• Implement security policies and data masking.
• Write unit, integration, and system tests.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance.
• Lead CI/CD automation and deployment workflows.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.
