Job summary

Promega in Madison, WI seeks a Sr AI Analytics Developer to design and deliver data models, Power BI reports, dashboards, and AI-powered conversational analytics. You will own reporting delivery in assigned domains, partner with stakeholders, mentor developers, and drive adoption of emerging AI analytics capabilities across a global life sciences organization.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in business analytics, BI development, or data engineering.
• Delivery of production-grade Power BI solutions, including complex DAX and semantic models.
• Experience with conversational analytics, natural language querying, or LLM-based data interfaces (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Azure OpenAI).
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure Databricks).
• Understanding of dimensional modeling (Kimball or equivalent).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models across business domains.
• Develop conversational analytics interfaces and integrate LLM-based tools with analytics workflows.
• Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate problems into technical specifications.
• Create and maintain data models using Kimball dimensional design principles.
• Train business users on Power BI and conversational analytics tools; promote self-sufficiency.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team standards for BI and AI analytics.
• Support key decisions by providing trusted data insights and recommendations.
• Monitor data and reporting quality; resolve incidents in a timely manner.
• Identify and implement process improvements; evaluate new analytics tools and AI capabilities.
• Demonstrate inclusion and promote a safe workspace; align with Promega's ES I principles and ethics.
