Job summary

Nortal in the United States is seeking a Senior AI Agentic Engineer to design secure enterprise apps and agentic workflows that connect AI to client data and tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), ensuring production readiness.

You will mentor engineers, shape technical direction, and own production code, tests, and documentation, collaborating with domain experts and product managers to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of software development experience, including five+ years with Python/TypeScript.
• Strong skills in React, API development, architecture, testing and CI/CD.
• Experience building AI-assisted apps, agentic workflows, or tool-calling solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure enterprise apps with React, TS, Python and APIs.
• Build agentic workflows and MCP integrations enabling AI to access data and tools.
• Implement structured outputs, state management, approvals, and recovery.
• Establish authentication, RBAC, audit logging, and security best practices.
• Set up AI eval, guardrails, tracing, monitoring for quality, safety, cost.
• Collaborate with domain experts to turn requirements into scalable solutions.
• Create reusable components and own code in production with tests and docs.
• Mentor engineers and help guide technical direction across teams.
• Participate in Nortal's Technical Interviewer Program to help build teams.
