Zusammenfassung

Defense Unicorns seeks a senior AI Agentic Engineer to embed with a government team and partners, building an emergent AI-powered engineering ecosystem. You will design, implement, and operationalize AI agents and workflows in a secure environment, interfacing with enterprise data, APIs, and toolchains.

The role emphasizes hands-on development across LLMs, agent frameworks, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and DevSecOps practices to deliver production-ready agentic capabilities for mission use.

Qualifikationen

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Hands-on experience building applications or systems using large language models and generative AI.
• Experience designing and implementing AI agents or agentic workflows.
• Strong programming experience in Python and/or another modern language.
• Experience integrating AI systems with APIs, enterprise apps, databases, and external tools.
• Experience with one or more agent frameworks or orchestration approaches.
• Knowledge of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, tool/function calling, structured outputs, and prompt engineering.
• Experience in Git-based, automated CI/CD environments.
• Ability to prototype, test, troubleshoot, and iterate in ambiguous environments.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals: testing, version control, APIs, debugging, system design.
• Ability to work with platform engineers, government personnel, and multiple technology vendors.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and integrate AI agents and multi-agent workflows using LLM and agentic tech.
• Develop agent capabilities interacting with enterprise apps, APIs, data sources, tools, and mission systems.
• Integrate models, agents, tools, and data into secure workflows for restricted environments.
• Work with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, tool calling, structured outputs, MCP.
• Develop mechanisms for agents to securely access and act on enterprise data and services.
• Prototype and evaluate new models and agent frameworks for mission value.
• Create evaluation frameworks for agent accuracy, reliability, latency, cost, and task completion.
• Implement guardrails and policy controls for agent behavior and access, with human approval points.
• Integrate agentic capabilities with CI/CD and DevSecOps for repeatable development and deployment.
• Collaborate with platform engineers to deploy AI workloads on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Partner with commercial tech vendors to integrate capabilities into the broader ecosystem.
• Troubleshoot issues across models, frameworks, APIs, data, networking, and infra.
• Develop reusable patterns for agent deployment, observability, and lifecycle management.
• Document architectures, integration patterns, agent specs, results, and ops procedures.
• Identify recurring AI engineering challenges to standardize or productize.
