Job summary

Defense Unicorns is seeking a senior AI Agentic Engineer to embed with a government team and partners, building an AI-powered engineering ecosystem in a secure enterprise environment. You will design, integrate, and operationalize AI agents across LLMs, agent frameworks, data sources, APIs, and platform services for mission-ready workflows.

The role emphasizes hands‑on development, rapid prototyping, and production readiness, with collaboration across platform engineers and commercial technology

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Hands-on experience building apps with large language models and generative AI.
• Experience designing AI agents or agentic workflows.
• Strong programming in Python or another modern language.
• Experience integrating AI with APIs, enterprise apps, databases, and tools.
• Experience with one or more agent frameworks or orchestration approaches.
• Knowledge of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, tool calling, and structured outputs.
• Experience with Git-based CI/CD environments.
• Ability to prototype, test, and iterate in ambiguous environments.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and integrate AI agents and multi-agent workflows with LLMs and agentic tech.
• Develop agent capabilities interfacing with enterprise apps, data sources, APIs, tools, and mission systems.
• Integrate models, agents, tools, and data into secure, producible workflows.
• Prototype and evaluate emerging models and agent frameworks for mission value.
• Develop testing, evaluation, and guardrail frameworks for agent reliability and security.
• Collaborate with platform engineers to operationalize AI workloads in Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Support integration with CI/CD, DevSecOps, and enterprise tooling.
