Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking an AI Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain AI-powered solutions that optimize supply chain operations. You will work with business stakeholders, product teams, and IT to drive innovation using generative AI, agentic AI, ML, and cloud tech.

You will implement best practices in DevOps, security, and scalable architectures, building AI agents and data pipelines with Python, SQL, Flask or FastAPI, and container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, AI, DS, IT, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years in software/AI/ML engineering or data science, incl. 1 year in agentic AI
• Hands-on with AI agent development frameworks (e.g., Google's Agent Development Kit)
• Knowledge of MCP and A2A communication protocols
• Strong cloud experience, preferably GCP; AWS/Azure also considered
• Advanced Python, APIs, SQL, system design, DevOps/AIOps; familiarity with JS/frontend tech
• Experience monitoring and optimizing production AI/software solutions
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain AI agents and software for supply chain operations
• Apply prompt engineering, RAG, LLM orchestration, MCP/function calling and guardrails
• Ensure DevOps and cybersecurity best practices in CI/CD, source control and secure coding
• Develop data models and pipelines to support AI solutions
• Develop AI agent software and system integrations using Python, SQL, and Flask/FastAPI
• Build scalable AI solutions with Docker and Kubernetes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and educate teams on AI capabilities
• Partner with infrastructure and security teams to ensure AI integration
• Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to leadership
• Take ownership from concept to production with minimal supervision
• Mentor junior engineers through reviews, pair programming, and coaching
• Stay current on AI tech and contribute to AI strategy and roadmap
