Gilder Search Group is seeking a Mid-to-Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and support production-grade AI Agents and Generative AI solutions for a U.S. Department of Energy laboratory.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering with LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines, and data integrations across AWS Bedrock, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot environments. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, AI, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering or related experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on Python development.
• Experience with Generative AI/LLMs and AI agents.
• Experience with API integrations and data sources.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI Agents and agentic workflows using LLMs.
• Develop AI agents that interact with enterprise data, APIs, apps, and tools.
• Build and enhance RAG applications using enterprise documents and data.
• Develop Python services, APIs, and backend components for AI apps.
• Create data pipelines for ingestion, parsing, embeddings, indexing, and retrieval.
• Implement vector search and grounding for LLM apps.
• Collaborate across cloud platforms (AWS Bedrock, Google Gemini, Azure AI) and internal teams.
• Mentor a junior AI engineer and document architectures and procedures.
