Job summary

Edison Scientific is hiring a Senior Applied AI Engineer to own the AI agents powering our platform. You’ll design, implement, and maintain production agents and prototypes, collaborating with science and engineering teams to push capabilities and reliability.

You’ll work with customers to validate workflows while shaping product direction, architecture, testing, and tool integration across life sciences use cases.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with production systems.
• Experience building LLM-powered tools or applications: prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, evaluation frameworks.
• Strong CS/SE/Math/Physics/Data Science foundations.
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript; quick to learn new tools.
• Experience across engineering, science and product teams.
• Experience in life sciences or scientific R&D workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain the AI agents powering Edison’s platform from prototype to production.
• Collaborate with science and engineering teams to explore agent architectures and prompting strategies.
• Develop reusable infrastructure: agent skills, tool-use pipelines, benchmarks.
• Engage with R&D partners to test workflows in real environments and extract insights.
• Translate research findings into product direction and priorities.
