Job summary

Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics in Wichita, Kansas seeks a Software Engineer (AHRS) to design avionics, power electronics, and battery systems with a focus on AHRS and INS. You will work on software-defined behavior and test existing and new technologies, interfacing with lab hardware and sensor inputs.

The role requires a bachelor’s in computer engineering and at least 10 years of embedded software experience in the U.S., plus 5 years as principal AHRS/INS designer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of embedded software design experience in the U.S.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as principal designer for AHRS and INS.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience characterizing and calibrating inertial sensors.
• Ability to work directly with target hardware and lab equipment.
• Proficiency in C programming.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail; organized, focused and results oriented.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical support in the evaluation and testing of existing and emerging technologies and capabilities.
• Design avionics, power electronics, and battery systems with emphasis on AHRS and INS products.
• Create unique intellectual property to address the growing demand for software-defined behavior.
