About the Role

Senior technical leader (Forward Deployed Engineer) responsible for designing and delivering agentic identity and access solutions for clients. The role focuses on securing AI agents and non-human identities by building agent registries, delegated authorization models, runtime attribution, and low-latency policy engines while working closely onsite with clients and engineering teams.

Role

Senior Forward Deployed Engineer / Agentic Identity Platform technical lead. You will own technical design decisions for engagements, stay close to implementations, prototype when needed, and set the direction for engineers working on agentic identity, delegated authorization, runtime attribution, and policy engines for client environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Own technical design and be accountable for decisions made on engagements.
• Review implementations critically and prototype in the agentic identity stack to resolve questions.
• Set technical direction and perform code and design reviews for engineers on your engagement.
• Reverse-engineer client environments’ identity flows and design corrected architectures.
• Make and document build-versus-buy decisions with durable rationale.
• Prototype against emerging standards and vendor betas, and produce reference implementations and technical content for the practice.
• Mentor and grow engineers by working alongside them in the code and design.
• Be client-facing, often working in the client environment while systems run; travel required (0–100%).

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years professional experience building and shipping production software.
• Hands-on technical work within the last 24 months (development, prototyping, code review, or design review).
• At least 4 years professional development experience in one or more of: Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Java, C++.
• At least 4 years designing and building concurrent or distributed systems in production.
• At least 3 years hands-on experience deploying and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including containers and CI/CD pipelines.
• At least 2 years technical leadership of at least 2 engineers, including code review and design review responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) OR minimum 12 years work experience (Associate’s + 6 years experience acceptable).
• Ownership of at least two production systems end-to-end (design, implementation, deployment, operation).

Preferred / Bonus

• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, token exchange, SAML, SPIFFE, PKI, or mTLS.
• Experience with MCP, agent frameworks, or LLM application development.
• Background in identity and access management (IGA), PAM, secrets management, or non-human identity.
• Applied cryptography experience.
• Participation in production on-call rotations.
• Client-facing or consulting experience with executive stakeholders.
• Experience making and documenting build-versus-buy decisions.

Compensation & Location

Role location-specific annual salary ranges are provided in the posting for multiple U.S. locations. Examples in the posting include ranges such as California $94,400 to $293,800 and Maine $80,400 to $216,200. The posting will remain open through 11/30/2026.
