Amazon Connect in Seattle is seeking a Sr. Applied Scientist to advance Agentic AI and LLM-based systems.

You will partner with senior leaders to translate data into measurable impact, define offline evaluation harnesses and online experiments, and prototype agentic architectures using PyTorch, vLLM, and AWS Bedrock/SageMaker. We value deep expertise in machine learning and generative AI, with a strong academic background and industry experience, and you will contribute to cutting-edge research

Qualifications

• 5+ years of building machine learning models for business applications
• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Demonstrated experience with generative AI and LLMs — fine-tuning, prompting, retrieval, or post-training

• Distill insights from large data sets and conduct cutting-edge research
• Develop science solutions from conception to deployment
• Define offline evaluation harnesses and online experiments
• Converge on trustworthy metrics linking model quality to customer outcomes
