Job summary

DCAS's Office of General Counsel seeks an agency attorney to handle procurement matters from inception to contract registration and related litigation. The role involves working with DCAS lines of service, drafting and negotiating contracts, and providing cross-departmental legal support.

The attorney will also handle FOIL requests, residency waivers, and prepare public hearing testimony and press responses as part of institutional assignments.

Qualifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
• One year of satisfactory United States legal experience after admission to any state bar.
• Alternate path: six months of service as an Agency Attorney Intern (30086).

Responsibilities

• Act as counsel to DCAS on complex procurement and contract issues.
• Collaborate with operating units to align business needs with legal guidance.
• Advise the Office of Citywide Procurement on bid responsiveness, vendor responsibility, and bid protests.
