Job summary

Housing Authority of Cook County seeks a development professional to support the real estate team in structuring and overseeing development projects in accordance with HUD and IHDA regulations. You will assist with financing applications, develop proformas, review investor proposals, and manage due diligence to keep projects on time and on budget.

The role requires strong analytical and regulatory knowledge, with experience in housing programs and partnerships with lenders and agencies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in real estate, finance, economics, or related field.
Knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit programs and HUD IHDA requirements.
Familiarity with affordable housing development procedures and financing.
Ability to organize and structure financing applications.
Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with submitting financing applications for rehab and tax credit projects.
Develop property proformas to ensure financial feasibility.
Review proposals from investors and lenders for sound structure.
Perform due diligence in real estate transactions.
Coordinate with financial institutions, investors and government agencies for closings.
Ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Attend project meetings to monitor time and budget.
Identify new development opportunities and funding options.
