Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking an experienced Aerostat Operator to support Telemetry and Control for the TARS program across multiple sites along the US Southern border. You will participate in pre-launch to recovery operations, with heavy involvement in telemetry and control tasks and site support duties.

Responsibilities include maintenance of aerostat structures, hydraulics, avionics, and ground systems, plus calibration, data logging, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• 7 years of mechanical maintenance experience; degrees may substitute.
• Ability to obtain flight operator certification.
• Valid U.S. driver's license required.
• Willing to work a 24/7 shift schedule to meet mission needs.
• Proof of U.S. residency required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior machinery maintenance mechanic for assigned aerostat shifts and sites.
• Perform mechanical tasks: disassembly/assembly, wiring, testing, and fabric repairs.
• Flight Crew activities: pre/post flight, launch/recovery, helium topping and tether inspections.
• Maintain flight logs with accurate event and data entries.
• Preflight/post-flight checks of aerostat subsystems; troubleshoot aerostat systems.
