Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to provide technical support for the design, build, and delivery of complex aircraft components. You will perform static, fatigue, and fracture analyses, define repairs for metallic and composite structures, and prepare FAA-supported reports.

The role emphasizes process improvement, collaboration with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams, and travel up to 10%. On-site role in Foley, Alabama, U.S.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience performing static stress and fatigue analyses using classical methods and FEA.
• Experience with metallic or advanced composite aerospace structures.
• Experience with Nastran, Patran, or comparable FEA tools.
• Knowledge of load paths, free body diagrams, and structural sizing.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex structural analyses of aerospace components.
• Define repair designs for metallic and composite structures.
• Develop standard repair instructions with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare engineering reports for FAA approvals and customer reviews.
• Collaborate to reduce costs and improve producibility across product lines.
• Travel up to 10% as needed.
