Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Software Engineer on the test team to lead verification for Flight/Ground software across digital and hardware-in-the-loop environments. You will mentor junior engineers and drive testing strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust verification before launch or facility use.

You will shape automated pipelines, code reviews, and test frameworks, while delivering maintainable, scalable solutions that meet stringent space

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8+ years of experience with formal software testing.
• Strong C/C++ and Python with Linux expertise.
• Experience leading agile testing initiatives and mentoring.
• Proficiency with Git and test automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and software verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of complex test procedures in digital and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Architect and develop robust frameworks for automating test case execution and reports.
• Mentor team members and act as senior technical reviewer for merge requests.
• Design and implement comprehensive unit test strategies.
• Ensure compliance with customer test requirements and provide guidance.
• Document requirements, designs, plans, and schedules for maintainability.
• Communicate milestones, risks, and mitigations to stakeholders.
• Champion software engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
