Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Sr Quality Engineer (Aerospace) for its Torrance, CA location. The role reports to the Quality Manager and oversees customer-plant liaison, statistical methods, quality analyses, and audits to drive continuous improvement.

Strong root-cause analysis and high-volume manufacturing experience are essential. The position emphasizes collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to meet customer specs, improve quality costs, and implement robust QA processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in a production/manufacturing environment in a Quality role.
• Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
• Export-controlled data access requirement for employment offers.

Responsibilities

• Review customer complaints, analyze returns and recommend corrective action.
• Review data and present graphical representations; aid in implementing statistical methods and quality programs.
• Assist in annual plant audits and system surveys.
• Update/augment QA procedures and systems.
• Support engineering and sales with development and application problems.
• Ensure processes adhere to quality standards through audits and evaluations.
• Travel to customers/suppliers as needed to control problem areas.
