Job summary

PPG Industries is seeking a Process Engineering Leader for the Aerospace Science and Technology team. Based in Burbank and Mojave, CA, you will lead scale-up and process development for new aerospace coatings, sealants and adhesives with global responsibilities.

You will bridge NPD and manufacturing, collaborate across regions, and drive Six Sigma and quality tools to improve efficiency while meeting timelines. Report to the Aerospace Materials Global Technical Director.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Engineering or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• 10+ years in chemical/process engineering with coatings, sealants and adhesives.
• Expertise with Six Sigma, DMAIC and leading complex problem solving.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to manage parallel workstreams and timelines with quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead scale-up and process development for new aerospace coatings, sealants and adhesives.
• Support NPIs and ensure robust launches with on-time product scale-up.
• Bridge NPD teams and manufacturing plants; collaborate across regions.
• Evaluate and introduce process engineering technologies and equipment.
• Direct regional process engineering teams; establish standard work practices.
• Work with DFMEA/PFMEA and control plans to improve robustness and mitigate risk.
• Operate in a matrix organization with a global, diverse team; ensure EH&S compliance.
