Job summary

PPG Industries in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Manufacturing and Process Engineering Lead for Aerospace Transparencies to guide safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives on onsite, first-shift operations.

You will lead an engineering team across production and manufacturing processes, drive capital improvements, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and report to the Production Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering required, mechanical/manufacturing preferred.
• 3+ years leadership or managerial experience.
• 3+ years manufacturing experience.
• Experience with process automation preferred.
• Lean/Six Sigma/continuous improvement knowledge preferred.
• Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead an engineering team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
• Drive process improvements and maximize productivity in assigned areas.
• Serve as technical resource for production and operators to eliminate barriers.
• Improve product quality, manufacturability, capacity, and reduce cycle/setup times.
• Collaborate with quality, design, NPD, safety, labs, and others to resolve problems.
• Track and analyze production metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
