Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Aerospace Mechanical Engineer to lead a team designing unmanned aircraft products from concept to production, integration, and test support. The role emphasizes rapid development and deployment of cutting-edge technology within a defense-focused group in Ashburn, VA.

The ideal candidate will guide critical requirements, perform trade studies, and drive schedule and cost for internal product teams, with up to 10% travel and a US Secret clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Graduate degree and 4+ years of related experience; or 10+ years in lieu of degree.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual and detail design of unmanned aircraft and their systems.
• Author PDRs, CDRs, and design reviews.
• Perform significant CAD modeling of parts and assemblies.
