Job summary

Universal Avionics seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to own complex electromechanical designs for avionics products. You will drive CAD from concept to prototype, perform thermal and structural analyses, and validate with prototypes and environmental testing.

Collaboration across engineering disciplines is essential to deliver reliable aerospace solutions that meet demanding flight requirements. You'll work onsite in Duluth, GA, with a focus on packaging, manufacturability, and integration

Qualifications

• MS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years electromechanical design experience in aerospace or avionics.
• Strong experience with thermal and structural analysis.
• Proficiency with PTC Creo 3D CAD.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality environments.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into reliable mechanical and opto-mechanical designs.
• Own complex design activities from concept through detail definition with Creo.
• Apply thermal/structural analysis to ensure reliability prior to qualification.
• Validate results with prototypes, testing, and environmental qualification.
• Collaborate across disciplines to meet aerospace packaging and integration goals.
• Support sustaining engineering and manufacturing with design integrity.
• Maintain CAD data and configuration control using Windchill.
