Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Harness Designer to lead analog and digital circuit design and harness development for aerospace/defense programs. You will drive electrical drawings, system architecture alignment, and ensure design quality from concept to delivery.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate test activities, and collaborate with customers and suppliers to meet requirements and schedules. U.S. citizenship is required for this federal contractor role.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years in aerospace, defense, and/or avionics experience.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and harness/interconnect design using Altium Designer (required), with PSPICE/LTSPICE for analysis.
  • Familiar with EMI/EMC design and MIL-STD-461.
  • Experience with serial protocols (RS-422/RS-485/MIL-STD-1553) and developing serial hardware/software.
  • Experience leading design and development of robust hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Leads analog and digital circuit designs per customer requirements and standards.
  • Creates and reviews electrical drawings and harness drawings.
  • Reviews designs for functionality, manufacturing, cost, and quality.
  • Heavily involved during system architecture and requirements review phases.
  • Leads test and analysis activities throughout product lifecycle.
  • Writes test procedures, tests reports, and analysis reports.
  • Verifies calculations, testing, and analysis work of peers and junior engineers.
  • Supports manufacturing, quality, and assembly from concept to delivery.
  • Mentor and resource for junior engineers.
  • Develops interconnect and harness designs from system pin-out through final documentation release.
