Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Harness Design Engineer in Mountain View, CA. You will own electrical harness design for drone airframes, docks, and test platforms, working 90% on electrical tasks and 10% mechanical routing and clips.

You will create harness drawings, select components, and support testing and production transition. Ideal candidates have a BS in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of harness design experience, with knowledge of FAA airworthiness and SAE wiring standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years harness design experience
• Connector and component selection experience
• Wire sizing, shielding, grounding, and power distribution fundamentals
• Harness test and validation experience
• Familiarity with aerospace regulatory environment (FAA airworthiness) and aerospace wiring standards (SAE AS50881)

Responsibilities

• Design wire harnesses for airframe, dock systems, and test benches
• Select connectors, wire, and harness components
• Create harness drawings, schematics, wire lists, and BOMs
• Define routing, clipping, and retention with mechanical team
• Plan and support harness testing (continuity, hipot) and resolve issues
• Support transition of harness designs to production
