Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an Aerospace Systems Design Engineer to support simulation and mission systems for cutting-edge flight research programs. You will design, integrate, test, and operate aircraft simulation systems in collaboration with NASA, AFRC, and multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes real-time simulations, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and advanced software development across avionics, control systems, and modeling domains.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a relevant field with substantial experience.
• Candidates should possess security clearance eligibility and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, integration, testing, and operation of aircraft simulation systems and mission systems for advanced flight research programs.
• Perform simulation engineering, systems engineering, and hardware-in-the-loop activities for research and flight test operations.
• Coordinate work in Intercommunications, IT, and ground control system design/test areas.
• Develop software for real-time simulations and aircraft modeling, including aero models and flight controls.
• Assist in development and testing of 6-DoF simulations and RTOS-based software environments.
• Document test activities and results with clear pass/fail criteria and traceability.
