Job summary

Quartus Engineering Incorporated is seeking a Senior Engineer in our Aerospace sector to design and develop structures, mechanisms, and ground support equipment for spacecraft and aircraft. You will guide projects through concept, maturation, and prototype phases, mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with customers.

The role requires 6–10 years of overall experience, 5+ years in spacecraft design, and hands-on hardware involvement.

Qualifications

• BS and/or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 6–10 years total experience in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in design for spacecraft.
• Experience with electro-mechanical systems or high-precision mechanisms.
• Experience with machining, welding, and composites manufacturing.
• Experience with costing and estimation of engineering design and manufacturing.
• CAD software experience.
• GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (Nastran, ANSYS, ABAQUS).
• Hands-on hardware in prototype/testing/production environments a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop structures, mechanisms, and ground support equipment for spacecraft and high-value systems.
• Perform concept-level analyses on new designs.
• Own challenging technical problems from concept to maturation and prototyping.
• Lead technical execution, reviews, and customer communication.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
