Extex, a division of Kaman located in Gilbert, Arizona, seeks a Sr Design Engineer to lead aerospace component and system development for gas turbine engines and helicopter components. You will create PMA parts, draft SolidWorks drawings, and prepare FAA substantiation packages while coordinating cross-functional teams.

The role demands 10+ years in engineering, 5+ years in aerospace, and strong knowledge of AS/ASME/Mil/ASTM specs.

Competenze

• Minimum 10 years related engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years related experience in Aerospace/Aviation.
• Proven ability to design and engineer aircraft components/systems.
• Strong understanding of engineering specifications (AS, ASME, Mil, ASTM, etc).
• Experience working with outside vendors.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations for obtaining intellectual property preferred.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling packages such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Experience working with a DER is preferred.

Mansioni

• Create PMAs via design and development of aerospace parts and assemblies.
• Create drawings and 3D models of components using SolidWorks for new development and reverse engineering.
• Prepare design substantiation packages for FAA submission and write technical documents/FAA reports.
• Manage multiple PMA projects through design, procurement, test and certification phases.
• Interface with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams and external vendors to complete deliverables.
• Maintain records required by regulatory agencies and ensure safety and environmental procedures are followed.
