Job summary

JMJ PHILLIP, based in Whippany, NJ, seeks a Senior Buyer to lead strategic procurement of aerospace components, raw materials, and services. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure uninterrupted material flow and compliance with aerospace standards.

Responsibilities include developing sourcing strategies, managing the full procurement lifecycle, evaluating suppliers, and negotiating terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years purchasing or supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience procuring manufactured components, raw materials, and special processing services.
• Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and supply chain requirements.
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and aerospace standards.
• Knowledge of government contracting, export control, and priority-rating requirements.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Excellent negotiation, contract management, cost analysis, and strategic sourcing skills.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Manage full procurement lifecycle for aerospace components, raw materials, and services.
• Analyze MRP requirements to ensure materials are available for customer deliveries.
• Solicit quotations, conduct cost analyses, and negotiate terms and lead times.
