Job summary

Venus Aerospace is seeking a Buyer to drive procurement for critical machined parts and raw materials powering our advanced rocket engines. You will work with Engineering from R&D to production ramp, ensuring materials arrive on time and at optimal cost, with a focus on quality and delivery performance.

The role demands deep procurement experience in aerospace/manufacturing, strong supplier relations, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD specs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in procurement with at least 3 years in aerospace/manufacturing
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications
• Proven track record sourcing, onboarding, and negotiating pricing with suppliers
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes and ability to apply systematic thinking to manual workflow
• Experience with tight tolerance, low volume/high mix, prototype, development and production machined components
• AS9100 familiarity and export control awareness is a plus

Responsibilities

• Evaluate supplier capabilities, pricing, delivery commitments, and performance
• Maintain precise, real-time purchasing data and support transition to scalable platforms
• Ensure timely delivery of all materials to the organization
• Manage and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Oversee RFQ process to obtain bids and secure optimal pricing
• Collaborate with Engineering to fulfill procurement requirements and act as primary contact
• Provide timely updates on purchase orders and delivery dates
• Lead negotiations to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives
