Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Staff Aeronautical Engineer- Test and Evaluation Lead to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA or El Segundo, CA. The role focuses on coordinating and executing test activities across the program lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in test and evaluation within defense/aeronautics, holds an active Secret clearance with potential for Top Secret, and can travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in STEM with 12 years of related engineering/technical management experience, or Master’s with 10 years, or PhD with 8 years.
• Experience in test and evaluation within defense, aeronautics, or complex engineering environments.
• Experience testing at government or private facilities for ground, lab, wind-tunnel and/or flight test.
• Experience in requirement decomposition to lead design procedures and execute tests.
• Experience coordinating with test facilities to meet cost, schedule, and test requirements.
• Active Secret clearance (with BI within 6 years or Continuous Evaluation) and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for ground and flight tests.

Responsibilities

• Develop Test Plans, test procedures and test reports for flight/ground testing and coordinate with government test ranges for approvals.
• Execute testing from validation to components, sub-assemblies, and full vehicle.
• Testing across wind tunnel, dynamics, electrical, and flight test domains for EMD program.
• Coordinate and manage all Test & Evaluation from ground to flight test; store separation.
• Coordinate test facilities/resources required for ground/flight testing.
• Report test status and results to SEIT Lead or customer.
