Job summary

Basic Commerce & Industries, Inc. (BCI) is looking for a Principal Engineer to provide expertise in Operations for the Missile Defense Agency at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, VA. You will be expected to have over 20 years of experience in US Navy surface warfare and specialized knowledge in Aegis Combat Systems.

The role includes supporting technical development and tactical employment for Aegis systems, along with effective communication and analysis under tight deadlines. Applicants must be US citizens with relevant clearances.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 20 years of experience in US Navy surface warfare.
• Specialized experience in Aegis-related systems.
• Two years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Support MDA ABW and provide technical support.
• Analyze counter-tactics for emerging threats.
• Contribute to the design of future Aegis Baselines.
• Provide SME input for next-gen interceptors integration.
• Work on software design and testing for operational suitability.

20+ years of US Navy surface warfare experience

Experience with Aegis Combat and Weapon Systems

Management and Command and Control expertise

Microsoft Office Suite applications

Strong communication skills

Education

Formal degree supporting systems engineering or IAMD Warfare Tactics Instructor certification
