Job summary

FTI Defense is seeking a Senior Advisory Network Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex, multi-tenant network environments for a United States Navy customer.

You will interface with mission stakeholders, translate operational needs into robust technical requirements, and mentor a skilled engineering team to deliver resilient, mission-critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 10+ years of network engineering/architecture experience.
• Experience with VRF-Lite, multi-tenant enterprise networks.
• HA architectures, stateful failover, and redundancy.
• Strong customer-facing and requirements-gathering skills.
• Hands-on Cisco routing/switching and NGFW experience.
• Active DoD 8570/8140 baseline certifications (e.g., SecurityX, CCNA, CCNP Security, CCSP).

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and deployment of enterprise routing, switching, and firewall infrastructures.
• Architect multi-tenant environments with VRF-Lite, VLANs, and routing policies.
• Design HA topologies, failover, DR, and backup procedures.
• Engage with Navy stakeholders to translate needs into technical requirements.
• Install, upgrade, and integrate Cisco devices and security appliances.
• Provide DISA STIG-compliant templates for network components.
• Produce diagrams, design packages, specs, and SOPs for deployment.
• Troubleshoot L2/L3, security policy issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with ISSM/ISSO for ATO documentation.
• Travel 35-40% to Ventura, CA.
