Job summary

Revolutional in DC seeks a Senior Advisor, Infrastructure & IT Operations to guide strategic, operational, and technical direction across a large federal IT environment supporting U.S. diplomatic and national security missions.

This role partners with government leaders to translate vision into roadmaps, oversee cloud, network, security, and service operations, and drive modernization, reliability, and 24x7 readiness.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; U.S. citizenship required.
• 15+ years of progressive enterprise IT experience.
• 8+ years in technical or operational leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted technical and operational advisor to senior government and program leaders, translating strategic vision into technical roadmaps and decision-ready options.
• Champion innovative approaches to infrastructure, operations, and service delivery, piloting emerging technologies and process improvements.
• Lead infrastructure modernization, cloud, workplace technology, continuity of operations, and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Evaluate network and infrastructure designs and guide teams toward sustainable, enterprise-scale solutions.
• Strengthen ITIL-aligned service management using ServiceNow and monitoring platforms to identify systemic issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Serve as a senior escalation resource during outages and provide executive reporting on performance and modernization priorities.
• Mentor technical leaders and strengthen accountability and collaboration across the program.

Revolutional has a fantastic opportunity for an innovative and experienced leader to join our mission-critical team in DC. As Senior Advisor, Infrastructure & IT Operations, you’ll provide senior strategic, operational, and technical guidance across a large-scale federal IT environment that underpins U.S. diplomatic and national security operations worldwide, with the latitude to bring bold, forward-looking ideas to a program our customer depends on every day.

You’ll serve as a trusted partner to program and government leaders, translating customer vision and mission priorities into technology roadmaps and executable improvements across networking, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and service operations. The ideal candidate is an experienced enterprise IT leader who is just as comfortable driving executive conversations as solving complex technical problems, someone who treats innovation and continuous improvement as core to the job, not an afterthought.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a trusted technical and operational advisor to senior government and program leaders…translating strategic vision and mission priorities into technical options, requirements, and decision-ready roadmaps.
• Champion innovative, forward-looking approaches to infrastructure, operations, and service delivery…piloting emerging technologies and process improvements that strengthen mission outcomes and reinforce the customer’s confidence in Revolutional as a long-term partner.
• Lead infrastructure modernization, cloud, workplace technology, continuity of operations, and disaster recovery initiatives that keep the program ahead of mission demands.
• Evaluate network and infrastructure designs, challenge technical assumptions, and guide teams toward sustainable, enterprise-scale solutions.
• Strengthen ITIL-aligned service management using ServiceNow, monitoring platforms, and operational data to identify systemic issues, evaluate performance from the customer’s perspective, and drive continuous improvement.
• Serve as a senior escalation resource during significant outages or complex cross-functional issues, and provide executive reporting on performance, risk, and modernization priorities.
• Mentor technical leaders and strengthen accountability, collaboration, and operational ownership across the program.

What You Bring (Required Qualifications)

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 15+ years of progressive enterprise IT experience.
• 8+ years in technical or operational leadership roles.

Preferred Qualifications (Differentiators)

• Master’s degree in computer science or another technically related field.
• History of introducing innovative technical or process improvements in a mission-critical or highly regulated environment, with measurable impact on performance, resilience, or customer confidence.
• Experience supporting the Department of State, Department of Defense (War), Department of Homeland Security, or another national-security customer, particularly in classified environments.
• Broad technical range across cloud, applications, cybersecurity, identity, messaging, endpoints, or service desk operations, beyond core networking and infrastructure depth.
• Hands-on experience with platforms such as ServiceNow, Citrix, Microsoft enterprise platforms, Azure Government, or AWS GovCloud.
• Track record leading infrastructure modernization, service transformation, continuity of operations, disaster recovery, or 24×7/high-availability operations.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating services across technical domains and organizations.
• Experience scaling or growing cleared technical organizations while maintaining operational continuity and service quality.
• Experience supporting federal program transitions, recompetes, solution development, or technical oral presentations.
• Advanced IT service-management or process-improvement certification, such as ITIL 4 Managing Professional or Practice Manager, an ITIL Version 5 qualification beyond Foundation, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
• Other relevant certifications may include PMP, CISM, CISSP, CCNP, CCNA, ServiceNow, Azure, or AWS.
