Position: Senior Advisor, Commodity Management (Nashville, Tennessee)
Duties: Support logistics planning to determine forecasted needs for suppliers and commodities. Leverage knowledge of commodity qualities, transportation options, risk management, and supply chain evaluation models to help develop optimal commodity management strategies. Help drive ideation sessions to generate cost savings ideas and follow up on ideas to implement. Conduct cost analysis and optimization synthesis into procurement product cost prediction. Assist with platform cost analysis by sub-system and by Design to X (DTX) category using product Bill of Materials (BOM). Review and align results of BOMs with business partners for phase preparation. Partake in post-mortem analysis and process updates to support new products. Track and monitor new technology development and supports supplier integration with organization strategy. Provide support during Ideate & Incubate product innovation activities.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field plus two (2) years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Material/Product Planning, Buyer or related occupation OR Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field plus four (4) years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Material/Product Planning, Buyer or related occupation. Experience required with: Production environment, Inventory turns, Fill Rate, and Lead time; Develop overall business case recommendations for innovation initiatives by leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams; Drive cost optimization procurement specific deliverables such as Cost Bridges and early Total Cost Management (TCM) views; Perform cost benefit analysis; Supply Chain inventory trends and adopt upstream for continuity of supply (COS); Identify cost, lead time, spacing saving opportunities and action to implement changes; Leverage understanding of engineering schematics and mechanical assemblies; and Database exploration and using data visualization tools to present relevant findings/recommendations to senior leadership.
