How You’ll Make an Impact

At Epsilon, we do more than collect and store data. We help some of the world’s biggest brands discover real opportunities inside the data types, delimiters, and decimals. The Senior Advisor, Audience Strategy & Campaign Planning leads the development of omnichannel audience strategies that help clients achieve their business objectives. This role is responsible for defining campaign design targets, identifying the highest-opportunity audiences, and translating complex customer intelligence into actionable planning recommendations that guide paid and owned marketing strategies.

The Senior Advisor synthesizes customer data, audience insights, research, campaign performance, market trends, and business priorities to determine who matters most, what motivates them, and how the brand should engage them. As the lead for campaign planning, this role provides strategic direction to paid and owned channel activation strategists and ensures audience decisions remain intact from planning through activation.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can navigate ambiguity, influence cross-functional teams, and help evolve audience-led planning capabilities as marketing, technology, and customer needs continue to change.

What You’ll Achieve
  • Campaign Planning & Audience Strategy:
    • Lead omni-channel campaign planning workstreams from business objective through audience recommendation to activation readiness.
    • Define campaign design targets by identifying the audiences with the greatest opportunity to drive desired business outcomes.
    • Identify gaps in available data, research, or customer intelligence and partner with relevant teams to determine the appropriate approach.
    • Synthesize customer data, audience insights, research, campaign learnings, and business priorities to develop omnichannel audience strategies.
    • Translate customer intelligence into actionable recommendations by identifying audience motivations, barriers, needs, and growth opportunities that inform marketing strategy and personalization efforts.
    • Develop clear, stakeholder-ready campaign planning deliverables, including omnichannel audience prioritization frameworks and activation guidance.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership:
    • Contribute to the evolution of campaign planning methodologies, frameworks, and ways of working.
    • Support initiatives that move audience strategy upstream and establish more durable audience-led planning capabilities.
    • Develop reusable planning approaches and best practices that improve consistency and effectiveness across workstreams.
    • Adapt quickly to changing business priorities, technologies, and customer needs.
  • What Success Looks Like:
    • Audience recommendations are delivered with clear rationale, stakeholder alignment, and sufficient lead time to inform paid and owned channel planning.
    • Campaign design targets and priority audiences remain consistent as strategies move into sizing, activation, deployment, and measurement.
    • Analytics, media, CRM, creative, and client stakeholders understand the audience decision, the supporting evidence, and the implications for their work.
    • Campaign learnings are translated into future audience-planning decisions rather than remaining isolated within individual campaigns.
    • Planning approaches become more consistent, reusable, and scalable across campaign workstreams.

Who You Are

What you’ll bring with you:

  • 7+ years of experience in audience strategy, customer strategy, marketing strategy, consumer insights, CRM/lifecycle marketing, media strategy, consulting, analytics-informed strategy, or related disciplines.
  • Experience leading campaign planning, audience planning, customer strategy, or integrated marketing planning workstreams for complex brands.
  • Strong understanding of customer insights, audience segmentation, audience prioritization, personalization, CRM, lifecycle marketing, paid media, and omnichannel marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize multiple sources of customer intelligence into actionable audience and planning recommendations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional planning efforts and influencing decisions across multiple marketing disciplines.
  • Ability to lead multiple concurrent campaign-planning workstreams, balancing strategic rigor, stakeholder expectations, evolving inputs, and delivery timelines.
  • Ability to evaluate audience opportunities using quantitative, qualitative, behavioral, and market-based inputs.
  • Strong executive communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Experience presenting strategic recommendations to senior client stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge existing approaches, and develop new frameworks or ways of working.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and build alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong PowerPoint, Excel, and written communication skills.
  • Willing and able to travel a few days every month.

Why you might stand out from other talent:

  • Experience working in agency, consulting, CRM, media, loyalty, data-driven marketing, or digital marketing environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with audience platforms, customer data solutions, marketing technology, activation platforms, and identity-based marketing ecosystems is a plus..
  • Advanced certifications with any of the aforementioned subject matter is preferred.
