Job summary

Newport Healthcare in Utah seeks a Sr. Experiential Learning Coordinator to oversee the residential program, schedule activities, and partner with community resources to create engaging, safe experiences for young clients.

You will facilitate adventure-based activities, lead group sessions, coordinate with vendors, document outcomes, and collaborate with clinicians to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, recreation, or related field required.
• For Utah location, bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation required.
• Master's degree in counseling, recreation, or related field preferred.
• TRS license required; MTRS preferred.
• A valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum two (2) years' experience with young adults/adolescents in a residential setting facilitating and coordinating outdoor, experiential, or recreational activities required.
• Certification or training in adventure-based treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the experiential learning program and ensure client safety.
• Schedule activities and coordinate with community resources.
• Evaluate new opportunities and adapt programming accordingly.
• Facilitate adventure-based activities while maintaining safety.
• Lead process groups to connect activities to life experiences.
• Coordinate with off-site vendors to set up activities.
• Interact with milieu and encourage participation in activities.
• Inspect equipment and facilities regularly to ensure safety.
• Document outcomes timely and according to established standards.
• Communicate with clinicians and direct care staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
