Job summary

Google LLC in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Advanced Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer at a mid level to lead and advance electro-mechanical product development for high-volume hardware. You will drive design-for-excellence, process optimization, and robust manufacturing architectures across global supply chains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering, related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in process or product development for electro-mechanical assemblies for electronic systems.
• 5 years of experience in process, design, or product development for mechanical assemblies.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a go-to technical expert within a significant area of manufacturing engineering (e.g., tooling, automation, test, process development, DFX).
• Help define the medium and long-term technical strategy and manufacturing architecture for scalability and robustness and influence the supply chain selection for next generation hardware to support Google Cloud and Machine Learning.
• Drive initiatives that result in step-change improvements in cost, quality, efficiency, or capabilities.
• Use advanced statistical tools to guide teams to make data driven decisions to improve product manufacturing and design.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers within the team and cross-functionally.
