Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (Finance) to advance manufacturing processes and drive cost efficiency within the generator production program. This on-site role reports to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Sr.

Manager and collaborates with cross-functional production teams. The position emphasizes process improvement, quality enhancement, and throughput optimization, with opportunities to lead NPI initiatives and implement workstation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics).
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
  • Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering experience in aerospace context is a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and policies; recommend changes to procedures.
  • Familiarity with aerospace power generation, AC/DC motors, and industry standards for time studies/verification of builds (VOB).
  • Experience in workstation design, tool shadow boarding, and shop floor organization (5S).
  • Proficient in build/assembly tooling design and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Review and disposition of non-conforming materials from internal and external sources.
  • Leverage disposition data to identify trends and reduce defects or scrap.
  • Support root cause-corrective action investigations as needed.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes through process analysis and related design knowledge.
  • Solicit operator input to document requirements and communicate manufacturing needs.
  • Support NPI and define methods and sequences of operations for moderately complex products.
  • Understand capacity and opportunities to reduce bottlenecks and improve throughput.
  • Prepare product and process reports; present findings to team, supplier, or customer.
  • Contribute to cross-functional team efforts and project responsibilities.

Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (Finance)

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Senior here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our manufacturing processes and driving innovation within the aerospace sector. Your expertise will help shape the future of our manufacturing operations, ensuring operational excellence and cost efficiency.

You will report directly to our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Sr. Manager working out of our Tempe, AZ location. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will be interacting with cross-functional teams supporting production. Your strategic insights and leadership will drive the successful execution of the generator production program as part of the Component Systems sub business unit.

In this role, you will impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing processes, leading initiatives that enhance productivity, improve product quality, and drive customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Review and disposition of non-conforming materials from internal and external sources such as shop floor rejections, customer returns and vendor/supplier discrepancies.
  • Leverage disposition data to identify trends and isolate actionable solutions to reduce defects, improve FPY or eliminate scrap.
  • Support root cause-corrective action investigation activities as necessary.
  • Evaluate moderately complex manufacturing processes by conducting process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Solicit observations from operators/production technicians to discover and document hidden factory and prepare written or graphical work instructions for the communication of manufacturing requirements to production personnel.
  • Support NPI and determine the methods and sequences of manufacturing operations for moderately complex products, machine parts and assemblies; ensure that products and processes meet customer quality requirements.
  • Understand capacity and capabilities for area or cell of ownership and be able to speak to opportunities to reduce bottlenecks, increasing throughput with engineering solutions.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Presents findings and underlying rationale to team, supplier, or customer.
  • Contributes to team efforts and objectives by accomplishing metric moving activities as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional (e.g. quality, design, or test engineering) or project team responsibilities.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 5+ years of experience
WE VALUE
  • Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • General knowledge of aerospace or similar industry products and legal and regulatory requirements related to manufacturing plants.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and policies and recommend changes to procedures.
  • Familiarity with aerospace power generation, AC/DC electric motors, etc
  • Familiarity with industry standards for conducting time studies and verification of builds (VOB).
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of workstation design, tool shadow boarding/tool management MOS, kitting/staging shadow board MOS and cell organization/flow & 5S.
  • Proficient in build/assembly tooling design and implementation.
