Job summary

Honeywell Technologies is seeking a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to optimize and innovate manufacturing processes across machining, assembly, test, and molding. Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for machining, assembly, test and molding.
  • Create and maintain NC programs, fixturing, tooling, and assembly instructions.
  • Evaluate plastics resins, methods, and equipment for cost, quality, and performance.
  • Analyze workflow and layout to improve efficiency while maintaining quality.
  • Lead cost analysis, capital justification, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Support traceability, BOM changes, routings, and test plans.
  • Address non-conforming material, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and 5S initiatives to reduce waste.
  • Coordinate with supervision, operators, engineers, QA, and planning to resolve issues.
  • Support injection molding training and process knowledge for sealless pumps.
  • Identify and justify capital equipment investments; prepare CAPEX requests.

Job Description

As a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead initiatives to optimize and innovate manufacturing processes, driving operational excellence and efficiency. You will leverage your expertise to implement advanced manufacturing strategies and technologies that enhance productivity and product quality. The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, validating, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes across machining, assembly, test, fabrication, and engineered plastics operations. This role supports the production of centrifugal pump components, including machined metallic components and ANSIMAG sealless magnetic-drive non-metallic product lines with molded ETFE wetted components.

This is a day‑shift, salaried position that works under limited supervision and reports to the Shop Supervisor / Manager. You’ll work out of our Arvada, CO location on an On‑site work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, validate, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes for assigned areas, including machining, assembly, test, kit fabrication, engineered plastic parts, insert molded parts, and injection molded fabrication processes
  • Create, revise, and maintain NC programs, fixturing, tooling, standard work, process sketches, in‑process inspection plans, process notes, assembly instructions, process instructions, test instructions, bills of material, labor routings, and shop‑floor routings
  • Evaluate alternative plastic resins, manufacturing methods, equipment, tooling, and process improvements to support cost reduction, manufacturability, quality, and product performance
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, production flow, assembly methods, space requirements, equipment layout, process capability, and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards
  • Lead analysis of manufacturing costs in support of strategic make/buy decisions, accurate standard costing, capital investment justification, and cost‑reduction initiatives
  • Participate in production traceability and configuration control, including changes and corrections to bills of material, routings, technical work instructions, NC programs, inspection plans, and test plans
  • Support non‑conforming material disposition, root cause analysis, customer complaint investigations, internal issue resolution, third‑party audit responses, and corrective action implementation
  • Lead and support Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and 5S initiatives to eliminate waste, reduce variation, remove bottlenecks, and improve manufacturing, assembly, test, and fabrication processes
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Supervision, operators, technicians, engineers, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and management to resolve production issues and improve manufacturing capabilities
  • Support injection molding training and develop working knowledge of internal processes, customer specifications, and best practices for sealless magnetic‑drive pump products
  • Identify, justify, research, quote, procure, test, and implement capital equipment investments, including preparation of Capital Authorization Requests as needed
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience with CAD/CAM software; Siemens NX preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in machining, metal cutting, plastics manufacturing, injection molding, or related production environment
  • Experience with varied metallurgies such as carbon steel, stainless steel alloys, titanium, Hastelloy, and aluminum preferred
  • Experience supporting engineered plastic components, molded ETFE components, insert molded parts, or injection molded fabrication processes preferred
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted
We Value
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field
  • Lean Six Sigma experience, APICS certification, or demonstrated experience applying lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with VPP sites, EH&S programs, TPM, 6S, ISO standard work, and formal safety management practices
  • Experience managing multi‑shift or 24‑hour machine shop operations
  • Familiarity with various production processes, including plastic molding, tooling, assembly, and test
  • Strong communication skills, reading, listening, and talking are common

The salary range for this position is $102,000 - $127,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
