Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is looking for an Advanced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Mammography Technologist) for its Omaha campus. Responsibilities include operating mammography equipment and performing diagnostic imaging while ensuring high-quality imaging standards are met.

This position requires certification by ARRT in general radiologic technology and advanced certification in mammography. The selected candidate will work under supervision and play a key role in patient imaging and care.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in general radiologic technology by ARRT.
• Advanced certification in mammography required.
• At least one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammography and diagnostic x-ray equipment.
• Work under supervision and rotate responsibilities.
• Perform complex mammography radiographic exams.

Skills

Knowledge of radiation protection standards

Ability to utilize advanced imaging software

Knowledge of basic physics

Knowledge and skill in positioning patients for imaging

Proficiency in spoken and written English

Education

Completion of a full-time radiologic technology program
