A Day in the Life

The Senior Advanced Analytics Manager and Insights is responsible for providing leadership and technical guidance to a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Analytic Product Owners, and Data Analysts. The role involves recruiting, coaching, and training team members to ensure high performance, productivity, and professional growth while maintaining accountability for the team's performance and deliverables. The Senior Manager will champion strategic vision, drive the analytics product development process, and foster strong relationships across functional areas. The role also includes ensuring the team's effective adoption and understanding of analytics ecosystems, promoting system thinking, and supporting the evolution of analytics products. The successful candidate will manage team resource allocation, facilitate communication with key stakeholders, and work collaboratively to ensure that the team's analytics products align with business needs and deliver high customer value.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead, provide technical guidance, and foster professional growth for a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Data Analysts, ensuring high performance and effective resource allocation.
  • Ensure the team delivers high-value analytics products with a focus on customer satisfaction and quality; manage issues related to resources, timeline, or quality.
  • Communicate the vision, strategic priorities, and key insights into the business to the team; ensure alignment with broader business needs and functional roadmaps.
  • Recruit talent and support their career development and progression, while maintaining a team structure that optimizes productivity.
  • Foster innovation by encouraging the exploration and early adoption of new technologies and solutions within the team.
  • Act as a liaison with the Analytics and Insights Team and stakeholders, promoting system thinking within the analytics ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with the Enablement team and other functional area leaders to drive the analytics product development lifecycle and successful analytics adoption.
  • Understand and articulate functional business processes, systems, and future changes; provide constructive feedback and drive continuous improvement within the team.
  • Ensure the team is building and advancing the right analytics products in the right way, capturing benefits and/or ROI.
  • Foster strong customer relationships, promoting team's work and credibility, and supporting the evolution and maturity of analytics products.
  • Travel: Up to 25% or once a quarter.
Required Knowledge and Experience

Requires broad management knowledge to lead project teams in one department. Typically has mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function.

Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A)) and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.

Nice to Have
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Global Operations and Supply Chain functions, Operations or compliance and audit functions.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Experience supporting Agile processes and development.
  • Experience in supporting analytics that leverage the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of Medtronic products and corporate structure.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $151,200 - $226,800. The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
