Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to build scalable ML systems that enhance ad ranking and advertiser strategies. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to shape the next generation of shopping experiences on TikTok.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related field and 3+ years of hands-on big data experience, with proficiency in C++ or Go and preferably ads-domain exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in big data processing and storage frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Flink, Spark, Kafka, Hive, HBase, Redis, RocksDB).
• Strong CS fundamentals (coding, algorithms, data structures, software design) and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable machine learning systems and models to improve ad ranking quality and advertisers' marketing strategies.
• Explore, develop and experiment with new features to improve model accuracy.
• Understand ads platform objectives and use modern ML to improve ads relevance, quality, and quantity delivered to users.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and others to explore next-gen shopping experiences on TikTok.
