Devon County Council seeks a Senior Admissions Officer to lead the Admissions and Free School Meals Team. You will provide operational leadership, oversee complex and sensitive admission cases and help manage statutory admissions processes across Devon.

You will work with schools, academies, parents and partner agencies to ensure children access education quickly and fairly, while developing admissions systems.

Responsabilités

• Lead on complex admissions casework, including oversubscription, fair access and vulnerable children.
• Provide expert advice on admissions legislation, statutory guidance and local authority policies.
• Support the coordination and delivery of normal round and in-year admissions.
• Manage relationships with schools, academy trusts, neighbouring authorities and other stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of data, reports and responses relating to admissions matters.
• Support and mentor Admissions Officers, helping to develop knowledge, skills and service excellence.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and strategic projects.
• Deputise for the Team Lead where required.
• Support the coordination of admission appeals and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
