Overview

The Senior Associate, Principal Gifts provides administrative support to the Vice President of Principal Gifts and Assistant Vice President of Principal Gifts who are responsible for assisting the entire Division with reaching financial goals. Reports to Vice President of Principal Gifts and Assistant Vice President, Principal Gifts. The Internal title for this role is Senior Associate, Principal Gifts.

The onboarding of this role will include a comprehensive training process which includes completion of online modules, shadowing colleagues, as well as hands-on learning experiences.

This position is considered remote, 0-1 days onsite at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. DFCI guidelines state that employees must reside in New England: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, compile/create meeting materials, and prep Vice President and Assistant Vice President for internal and external meetings and engagements;
  • Make travel arrangements as appropriate for Vice President and Assistant Vice President;
  • Provide proactive fundraising support to Vice President and Assistant Vice President by tracking portfolio, pipeline, helping process gifts, drafting and proofing acknowledgement/stewardship letters, call reports and briefings, conducting preliminary research on donors/prospects, helping to complete action items, tracking gift discussions in ClearView, updating next steps for other senior management and faculty as appropriate;
  • Pull reports and fundraising data related to KPIs and other activity; analyze and present data to Vice President and Assistant Vice President to assist in tracking progress toward goals on behalf of the Principal Gifts team;
  • Manage Principal Gift solicit list maintaining accuracy and completeness and sending regular updates;
  • Liaise with internal and external constituencies at all levels on behalf of Vice President and Assistant Vice President as appropriate to ensure effective workflow and partnership from teams such Donor Engagement & Engagement, Prospect Research, Faculty Engagement, Gift Administration and Fiscal & Regulatory Management, as well as teams across the Institute;
  • Assist in design and production of written material such as charts, proposals, and PowerPoint presentations;
  • Employ good judgment and discretion on confidential matters and materials;
  • Participate in interview process, schedule and participate in training and oversee onboarding of new Principal Gifts administrative staff;
  • Support the Division and Institute’s ongoing commitment to creating and maintain an inclusive and diverse community.
