Job summary

Daimler Trucks North America is seeking a qualified engineer to lead regional ADAS feature development for Active Lane Assist and Lane Departure Warning.

This role will own the local interfaces with steering systems, work with product strategy, embedded software, validation, and aftermarket teams to define software requirements, manage progress and drive technical excellence in North American vehicle platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Control Systems or related field.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience in engineering design reviews and feature-level specification writing.
• System validation and troubleshooting experience.
• Programming and control systems modeling proficiency.
• Strong cross-functional engineering and feature management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for presentations and status reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-profile global ADAS features for the North American market: Active Lane Assist and Lane Departure Warning.
• Lead local interface and integration of active safety features with steering systems.
• Coordinate with product strategy, embedded software, validation, and service teams.
• Gather and specify software requirements for DTNA.
• Own development progress and issue management for local features.
• Serve as the local ADAS feature expert.
• Manage vehicle configuration for North American platforms.
• Support validation activities and analyze data to generate ADAS metrics.
• Model and analyze ADAS performance across vehicle platforms.
• Communicate proactively to identify problems and craft solutions.
• Participate in regulatory and compliance activities for driver assistance.
• Apply standards and tools across the development lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and motor vehicle regulations.
• Stay updated on state-of-the-art developments and apply to new designs.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers.
