Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an ADAS Sr. Software Engineer for a 12-month contract in San Jose, CA onsite. You will develop HMI software focusing on UI/UX, 3D graphics, and cross-platform C++ for automotive applications with a collaborative team.

The role emphasizes building graphics engines, integrating design assets, and deploying on concept vehicles. Candidates should have at least 5 years in software development and strong C++ and debugging skills, plus experience with Agile teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on C++ development.
• Experience with UI/UX software and design patterns (MVC, MVP, MVVM).
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and optimization skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HMI software features including 2D/3D interfaces.
• Build, optimize, and troubleshoot C++ across platforms.
• Collaborate with designers, researchers, and engineers to implement UI/UX designs and visual features.
• Develop and maintain graphics engines, UI tools, and supporting software applications.
• Debug complex software issues involving memory management, threading, and network communication.
• Integrate design assets and support end-to-end HMI development workflows.
• Build, deploy, and test HMI software on concept vehicles and associated hardware.
• Participate in vehicle integration, testing, and on-road development activities.
• Work within Agile teams to plan, execute, and deliver software development tasks.
