Markel Group in the United States is seeking a Senior Actuary to lead advanced actuarial analyses for pricing and reserving in Professional Lines. You will apply actuarial principles to develop insights for strategic decisions and due diligence on opportunities.

Requires deep ratemaking/reserving expertise and data analytics, with 8–10 years of actuarial experience. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential as is US work authorization.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in mathematics, statistics, or related analytical field.
• ACAS required; FCAS preferred.
• Minimum 8–10 years actuarial experience with Commercial Lines pricing.

Responsabilidades

• Lead pricing analyses for Commercial Professional Lines, developing rate indications and pricing tools.
• Evaluate and support new business opportunities including research and pricing framework development.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims and cross-functional teams to reflect risk and market dynamics.
• Communicate actuarial findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leaders.
• Present results and recommendations in meetings with clarity and alignment.
• Provide guidance on actuarial principles and key assumptions driving pricing decisions.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and mentor junior staff.
