Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance in Stamford, CT seeks a Pricing Reinsurance Actuary to apply advanced actuarial analyses to pricing Casualty Reinsurance placements across Umbrella, Professional Liability, and Multi-line business.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, present findings, and mentor colleagues while developing actuarial tools to support profit and growth within a compliant risk framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• ACAS/FCAS or ASA/FSA designation preferred or comparable education with relevant experience.
• Minimum 5–7 years relevant experience.
• Sound knowledge of actuarial techniques and related business operations.
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced computing skills (MS Excel, SAS) with ability to build complex models.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex actuarial analysis within a designated business segment to assist decision making and strategic planning.
• Prepare actuarial research and complex reports and present findings and recommendations.
• Communicate technical actuarial work clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Maintain clear documentation of methods and activities.
• Interact with peers, senior managers, and others within and outside the organization.
• Mentor, motivate, and train less experienced staff and peers.
• Direct the development of actuarial tools.
