Job summary

Ryan Specialty is seeking an Actuarial Director—Pricing to lead pricing strategy, models, and processes across the underwriting portfolio. You will collaborate with underwriting, product development, and executive leadership to price large and complex accounts and programs, and to align pricing with strategic objectives.

The role requires FCAS/MAAA credentials, 12+ years in P&C actuarial work with pricing or portfolio management, and at least 5 years of leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 12 years of actuarial experience in property & casualty insurance with pricing/product development or portfolio management.
• Demonstrated experience pricing large accounts, delegated authority programs, or specialty insurance products.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing methodologies, rating algorithms, and actuarial models for large accounts and specialty programs.
• Partner with underwriting leadership to price new and renewal business and evaluate risk-adjusted profitability.
• Develop portfolio management and performance monitoring frameworks for rate adequacy and profitability.
• Analyze data to identify trends, loss costs, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.
• Collaborate across product development, underwriting, and distribution to design and price insurance products.
• Provide actuarial support for delegated authority programs and strategic partnerships.
• Develop pricing recommendations and strategic insights for executive leadership.
• Support forecasting, scenario testing, and growth evaluation across segments.
• Enhance actuarial tools, analytics, and data capabilities for pricing accuracy.
• Monitor pricing adequacy and advise on corrective actions.
